Head Bands

Three white men were taken captive by a hostile Indian tribe. The chieftain was willing to let them go so he took them to a tepee, where there was no light. He put one head band on each of their heads (he had 3 white and 2 red - so 2 head bands were not used). Then they went out in a queue so that each man saw the head-band of those standing in front of himself (the first one did not see any head band, the second one saw the first one's head band, and the third one saw the head bands of the two others). If somebody said the colour of his head-band, they all would be free.

If they had three white headbands could they survive? They did! How?

TDD is great for DADs
2006-08-17, 22:01 - Programming
As a father of a four months old daughter I only have a few moment a day to sit down and do some programming.

Here TDD is really handy. It helps you to be quite productive even when you only have a few minutes to work at the time.

Hmmm...Got back to the computer. Aha! A red test...start/continue fixing it.
No red test? Lets write another one...

And when you cannot sit down for so many hours at the time you also cannot keep everything in mind. In that case it feels safe to have a bunch of unit tests to asure you you haven't broken anything.

The same thing TDD always is good for but more to the extreme!!

I like puzzles.

The last couple of days I have been looking around to find nice ones.
It's even more fun when the puzzles plays tricks with your mind.

This one is really funny:
Don's Amazing Puzzle

You just have to love the fact that the guy had to write a program (script) to convince himself of the answer. Hilarious!!

On a neat to know basis
2006-08-12, 23:46
I like to know stuff!!

I dislike it when people hide information. This goes for people managing companies as well as in my personal life. Therefore I hate the expression "On a Need-To-Know basis".

I would like to advocate my own expression:
"On a Neat-To-Know basis"
Give every person the information that he WANTS, not NEEDS. Every person is more capable of deciding what information is right for him than others.

I think the internet is driving the development towards this. The blogging phenomena is increasing it's impact as it makes people publish informal information and unfinished ideas (this is one...).

Just some thought's of mine...and remember where you heard it first :;)
